Valentine's Day DIY

I love an easy DIY project!!  I have three easy essential oil recipes that anyone can do for a DIY Valentine's Day!

I am including 2 edible recipes, so you wanna have fun with your sweetie pie or if you just need a snack in the shower ;-) hehe...I only recommend using Young Living Essential Oils, especially for the edible recipes. This is because of YL's Seed to Seal guarantee. I would not buy cheap essential oils off the internet because I have no way of knowing where the oils have come from and because an oil only has to contain 5% oil to be labeled as "therapeutic." This means that those cheap ones are cheap for a reason. They contain fillers. I would not ingest something that I did not know for certain was pure. I feel very confident about YL's procedures. They even use their own oils on their plants, no pesticides! Last thing, only ingest oils labeled as dietary.

Grapefruit + Peppermint Bath Salts

3 cups Epsom salt
1/2 teaspoon red food coloring
20 drops Young Living Peppermint Essential Oil
10 drops YL Grapefruit EO
2 cups baking soda
1 cup citric acid (sold at Walmart in the canning food aisle)
Glass jars (The dollar bins at Target have super-cute ones!!)
Side note - make sure your food color does not contain water or your the mixture will start fizzing
Pour the salts, food coloring and EO in a bowl and mix well.
Then add in the baking soda and mix well.
Then add in the citric acid and mix well.
Divide into glass containers.
Epsom salts are actually a form of magnesium and soak into your skin which will help with aches and pains, cramping, relaxation and more. If you are wanting a therapeutic Epsom salt bath, you can use 1-2 cups. BUT if you are just wanting something fun and yummy for your back just use a smaller amount like 2 tablespoons

Edible Peppermint + StressAway Massaging Oil

2 oz travel bottle with lid
20 drops YL StressAway EO
10 drops YL Peppermint EO
Almost 2 oz carrier oil - grapeseed, avocado, fractionated coconut, sweet almond and jojoba are good ones. I buy mine on Amazon. I have also seen them at Natural Grocers and H-E-B.
Pour the essential oils into the bottle first.
Top off with carrier oil and put lid back on.
Tip bottle gently to the left and right to disperse essential oils throughout the carrier oil.
Massages are a great way to feel connected to your partner and to know what they like and don't like. Massages are a great way to release built-up tension!! Also, both of the oils in this recipe are listed as dietary oils. Thus making them safe for ingesting.

Edible Warm Vanilla Sugar Scrub

8 oz container with lid (Got mine from Amazon.)
1/2 C white granulated sugar
1/2 C brown sugar
4-6 TBSP olive oil or carrier oil of choice
Mixing bowl
20 drops YL Stress Away Essential Oil
10 drops YL Peppermint Essential Oil
Mix all sugar ingredients in bowl by hand or with a spoon.
Spoon in carrier oil one tablespoon at a time to get it the consistency to your liking. Feel free to add more than 6 if you want it to be more runny.
Add essential oils and continue stirring.
Spoon into jar and seal with lid.
This is one of my favorite recipes to make and give as gifts to give that special someone a spa-like treatment at home!
