Frank-N-Honey Fash Wash

I, like many others before me, have fallen in love with essential oils (EO). I've always liked crafting and DIY. EO are a way for me to combine all my crafting and DIY ideas into one hobby. I do see it as more than a hobby. It is becoming my lifestyle. I am becoming more hippy-like every day! I am avoiding products with fake perfumes and names of ingredients I don't know. I have thrown away my fluoride-filled toothpaste and mouthwash, aluminum-filled deodorant, toxin-filled face wash, shampoo and lotion and replaced them with either homemade stuff or store bought natural stuff. It feels so good!

Just a few weeks ago I threw away some travel shampoo and a large unused bottle of lotion. I feel like I should donate it, but no one should be putting that stuff on their bodies!!!

The first thing I made after purchasing my Premium Starter Kit was my own face wash. I did quite a bit of researching on Pinterest to find just the right recipe.

8 oz container with lid or dispener
1/3 C raw unpasteurized honey
1/3 C castile soap - baby mild/unscented
3 TBSP distilled water
2 TBSP nourishing oil, I used sweet almond oil. Other options include jojoba, avocado, olive apricot, argan, grapeseed, etc.)
16 drops Frankincense YLEO

Add the water first to the container then castile soap, honey and oil. Put lid on and gently tilt container back and forth to allow ingredients to mix. Continue until honey is fully dissolved. Shake the container every now and then to ensure it is mixed before using.

Why I Chose Young Living

After doing a LOT of research on oils of all different brands, I made the confident decision to go with Young Living. This is hands-down one of those cases where you get what you pay for. Yes, you can buy a cheaper bottle of oil elsewhere! However, you have no idea where those products came from or how they were made.

Young Living is the only company out there that has what is called the “Seed to Seal” promise, or anything like it. It means that Young Living controls every single aspect of their production line. They own their own farms. They plant their own seeds. They cultivate their own crops. They use essential oils on their plants. They oversee everything, literally, from planting the seed to sealing the bottle. They can say with a 100% guarantee that they know what is inside each and every bottle, and that they are pure beyond a shadow of a doubt.

In our house, we have been working on living as chemical and additive free as possible. This is why I chose Young Living. The skin is the largest organ in the body, and if I’m going to be consistently using (applying, ingesting and breathing) these products on myself and my loved ones, I want to know exactly what I’m getting. YL gives me that peace of mind.

I also found this blog post to be very helpful as well from The Essential Family.

Young Living Premium Starter Kit YL PSK

The Premium Starter Kit (PSK) is the BEST way to get started and most economical when you want a lot of different oils! It is priced at $160. Buying the PSK gives you access to purchase any YL product at 24% off. You can see below the breakdown of each individual item and that the PSK is the least expensive way to try it all. It includes a dewdrop diffuser ($63.75), which uses ultrasonic technology to disperse millions of tiny essential oil particles into the air and is a humidifier at the same time. Too many combos to name for the diffuser when you get the PSK! StressAway & Peppermint are the best!!!! YL diffusers are made of medical grade plastic, not the cheap stuff and have a one-year guarantee!

The PSK also includes some literature about Young Living, a Resource Guide, info about Seed-to-Seal, sample packets of a few essential oils to share with friends, samples of Ningxia Red, 10 - 2mL vials, and the 11 oils I just talked about. Each bottle contains 5 mL (about 85 drops) of pure therapeutic oil and can last for months if you aren’t giving them all away because you love them so much!!

Copaiba ($43)              Lavender ($23.50)    Peppermint ($21.50)
Digize ($32.75)            Lemon ($11.25)       Purification ($18.75)
Frankincense ($73.50) Panaway ($35.25)    RC ($10.25)
Stress Away ($29.75)  Thieves ($33.75)

If you were to purchase each item individually from the starter kit, you would spend over $400 before shipping or taxes! (The prices listed are my wholesale prices.)

Every month I offer various incentives for grabbing a PSK with me. This month (DECEMBER 2015 only) I have been offering $25 cash back through PayPal or a $25 Amazon gift card. I only got a $10 gift card to Starbucks when I enrolled, and I don’t even go to Starbucks. To get $25 cash back is a BIG deal!! I’m so jealous! January’s promo from will be a $15 gift card to Amazon to help you purchase carrier oil or glass containers to make your own mixtures. Don’t want to buy the PSK but want to try YLEO? Just let me know what you want and I’ll let you use my discount! When you use my discount, it helps me get free oils, so I don’t mind adding your order to mine, just pay for your own shipping (around $6 depending on the size). Email me so we can get connected! Send me a message on FB or Instagram!

When you purchase the PSK, it’s like you are purchasing into a wholesale membership club. YL will ask you for your SSN and you will be asked if you want to enroll in Essential Rewards (ER). Just skip the ER part you can always add it later. It’s an autoship feature that lets you customize your oil order EACH month and earn points towards free oils and requires you to purchase 50PV (personal volume) EVERY month. It can be cancelled at anytime.

The only requirement after purchasing the PSK is that you have to purchase 50PV (personal volume) once a year in order to maintain the 24% discount and wholesale pricing. That's what my mom, granny and sister-in-law are doing - just the one-time purchase of the PSK. No pressure from me or anyone to ever purchase again if you don't wanna!

Another great feature of grabbing your PSK with me is that I am a Lemon Dropper and Happy Oiler. These are amazing teams with lots of helpful resources. You will never be alone in this oily journey!! When your PSK comes in, it’s very overwhelming and you may feel completely lost. I’m here as well as the rest of our team to help you find your way through it all and help you remember why you bought your PSK in the first place.

Because YL an MLM (multi-level marketing) company, there is a business side to it if you want there to be. Totally up to you. Never any pressure to do the business side at all. You come to me if you decide you want to sell a kit or set up a vendor event. I am here for you if needed.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Essential Oil Safety

Use a carrier oil (like olive, sweet almond, fractionated coconut, or jojoba oil) to dilute your essential oil when applying to skin. I have seen these carrier oils sold at my local grocery store in the health and beauty sections, on Amazon and at Natural Grocers. Diluting isn’t always necessary, but it's best to start that way to ensure your skin, nose or head aren’t too sensitive! I didn’t listen and as a result I was getting dull headaches because the oils are so potent, and I wasn’t used to them yet. Some people refer to this as detoxing because the oils are pulling toxins out of the body. Using YL oils has caused me to hate the smell of chemically infused products, especially bathroom spray, candles and body wash. They smell so fake to me now and I will never go back to them...Ok back to safety :-)

Store your oils in a cool, dark place to keep their compounds from altering.

Keep oils out of your eyes and ears. If they accidentally get where they shouldn't go, use a carrier oil (not water) to rinse it out. Oil and water don’t mix, remember!!

It's always wise to start slow and small and consult a doctor well versed in oils before use.

Always put citrus oils in glass, paper products or aluminum. Citrus oils (lemon, lime, orange, citrus, grapefruit, etc.) are incredible at pulling toxins out of plastics. If you are going to drink water with EO in it, you don't want to also drink plastic, even the BPA free stuff can still have toxins pulled out. Yuck! Only medical grade plastics are safe.

Check the oil bottle before ingesting an oil to be sure that it is labeled as a "dietary supplement."

Always heavily dilute with a carrier oil for kids and babies, never straight out of the bottle. Only diffuse around newborns. We never apply topically until our little ones are at least 6 months old, and we always dilute heavily! Pregnant or nursing moms should do their research before ingesting or applying oils just to be on the safe side!!

This are just my tips. I'm sure there are many more. Do your research!!
